Public Lecture: Time - what is it?
John Mallett FRAS presents a lecture on the history and evolution of the measurement of time, including
The criticality of time in measurement of events.
The time standards and how they are used to measure distant events.
How we can now understand evolution of stars and solar systems by correcting for time local to each system.
John is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He has an engineering background in aviation training for most of his working life, progressing from R&D engineer to Engineering Director of an international Company. Now retired and working with Altair Eclipsing Binary Science Research Group (EBSRG)
