M31 Andromeda Galaxy

This superb image by member Gary Hoffman is a mix of broadband, and narrowband data collected with different filters. The broadband filter collected the RGB data, and the narrowband data allowed him to isolate the Hydrogen alpha (Ha) in the red channel of his colour camera. He then blended the Ha data in with the RGB data to enhance the red nebulae in the galaxy.

The total integration time was over 14 hours, with almost 8 devoted to the narrowband data.
